So no screening this week in film class. Storm Sandy is messing everything up! There wasn't one last week either *cray*cray* (also, if any storm is going to bork things up, OF COURSE it would be called Sandy. That's the name of one of Mom's oldest friends, one of Step-Dad's sisters and the dog. the dog came with that name, cause geezee, we know enough of them). I need to watch Breathless which from the clips looks... intense. and interesting. we will see!

while talking about the film class: vidding for a movie that is older than 50 and trying to do internal motion? KINDA STUPID. there isn't much movement, even with a movie to the this grand scale. There is so much talking and the camera is ALWAYS AT THE SAME DISTANCE. back to the fucking board. (it was a great idea too!)

yay! Jurassic Park is on! I've been wanting to watch it since I saw bironic's They Want More. So happy place for the moment!

*flop* well okay. So I'm moving back to my college town this weekend. I rent rooms in houses because I can't stand not having a kitchen. MUST BE ABLE TO COOK. Can NOT eat dorm food. :/

So frankly I am exhausted right now. This house - which I really like - has three floors. Guess where I am? Yep, third floor! And those are some STEEP stairs. So we got most of it in - there's a few boxes over at the storage locker. And, see, I inherited my Great-Grandmother's bedroom furniture. Which is real wood, no IKEA shit for me (no I can't say that, my desk and bookshelf are IKEA). So my bed, dresser, night stand and mirror all are really nice. BUT! That last drawer on the dresser has warped. And that made it too heavy for my mother and me! *Waaah* so it's in the garage :/ WHERE'S THE GUYS?? None in this house! BAH. And the step-dad needed to stay at the farm today (oookay, I can kinda understand that one)

Finished - or you know, said "enough stairs is enough" - and took the bike to get innertubes replaced and buy a new bike helmet. IT TOOK THE GUY LESS TIME TO REPLACE THE TIRES THAN IT DID FOR US TO MAKE IT THROUGH TOWN. Move-in day, I hate you! He didn't connect the front break back up though. So I wheel it back in and his coworker shouts at him from the back "ROOKIE!" A good amount of heckling occurred :P He reattached it so fast I didn't have a chance to see what he did! I realized I know nothing about bike upkeep. hmmm.

Came back to my dad's (there's still stuff here!). Cooked an omelette in my new pan (okay, side story: not a new pan. It was my dad's until yesterday. Which is when we went into this new restaurant supply store by his office. He's been looking for a smaller rolled steel pan for YEARS. He has a large one that is wok-like and older than me! He got a 10" pan for less than $7! So I got his 8" stainless steel pan, so he could make room! LOVE IT). And well yes, I geek out about quality kitchen equipment. Pans and knifes especially! As evidenced when Dad and I watched Jiro Dreams of Sushi. We both kept going "ooh! Look at those knifes!" and "What is that pan?" and "How did they cook that?" lol. we are such nerds.

Amy's It Starts Out Like an A-Word (As Anyone Can See). Avengers (movie)/Sesame Street. Because. You wouldn't think it works, BUT IT DOES. Two fandom's with some SERIOUS HISTORY (there's got to be a hundred years between them, right?). Hits you right in all the feels but is a serious character study at the same time.

sam_storyteller's The Justice League Of Cardiff Is A Stupid Name DC comics/Torchwood. Jack captures Superman. Batman comes to get him back. NO REALLY. Don't drink while reading, mkay? seems like it would be completely ridiculous, but voices are spot-on. Ianto yet again wins all.

mhalachaiswords's Widow's Flight. Avengers (movie). Character study of Bruce & Natasha. and the Hulk too of course. Deals with the issues Nat and Bruce have post-movie. AND IS GLORIOUS. (look, it's also part of a series! In which the Black Widow is John Sheppard's mother. *grabby hands* need more of this verse. cause you all know how much I love wacky Sheppard origins stories)

for the first day of school that was NOT cool. Last night I was checking where my first class was and realized something odd: my schedule got rearranged! Suddenly my evening class had disappeared and I had the equivalent of it at 9:05 in the morning! This presented a problem because it ran over my english class. I'm good but I can't be in two places at once! After duking it out with the records office I climbed in my car to head to Essex for my (now corrected) evening class. Of course I got stuck on the Baltimore Beltway, since it was about 5 PM. The only good thing that happened on that drive was that I got to see some of the Doctor Who episode "Fear Her". No really! It was playing in the van ahead of me - one of those vans with the TVs to keep the kiddies entertained.

Oh and did I mention that my mother called and left me a nasty message when she realized that a class at 9:05 in the morning impacted my ability to transport my brother? And this was after I told her I was going to change that class so I could take care of my responsibilities! It's like she hasn't been listening to me the last 24 hrs. *arrgh*

CAD 103 is weird. There's actually people my age (in 101 I was the youngest by about 8 years). And almost all of the other students had the teacher before so he sort of just started and didn't really go over his requirements.

Speech I'm iffy about.

I missed English with Prof Kate *cries*.
