Star Trek Into Darkness trailer
American Teaser Trailer
more spoiler-y Extended Japanese Cut

and dammit, if they cut the hands-against-glass bit out of the American version because of homoerotic subtext, I will smack a bitch

Also does Bandersnatch Benedict Cumberbatch sound like Patrick Stewart in the trailer? just me?

ScifiSyFy's Tin Man. and ALL THE OZ FEELS. I mean Oz the Great and Powerful is coming in March and I've been excited for MONTHS about that. And then I'm writing my final paper in film class about The Wizard of Oz and sexual/female imagery (because I can). And so I decided to FINALLY watch Tin Man. AND HOLY CRAP, HI NEW FANDOM. or extension of old fandom, however you want to view it and it doesn't help that [livejournal.com profile] erinm_4600 and [livejournal.com profile] bizarra are COMPLETE enablers

Oh and hi Neal McDonough. I remember you from Boomtown. You absolutely made me stop and take notice when you threatened the witness and punched a hole in the wall and were generally just *unpf*. You are wonderful in Tin Man with your gun and hat and vaguely noir/western outlook. You can go join Ron Perlman in my list of 'favorite awkward looking sods with the prettiest blue eyes', mmmkay? other members include Daniel Craig and Laurence Fox. You'll fit in well.

yeah, anyone got some 60-odd thousand dollars to drop on the Profiles in History auction? It would make a really awesome Christmas present... and my star wars OFC, who's never seen the light of day is an Imperial Guard. so yeah. I ♥ these guys. gals. whatever.

An Imperial Royal Guard production-made helmet from Star Wars: Episode VI- Return of the Jedi. When the dark Emperor Palpatine arrives to confer with Darth Vader on timely topics such as Death Star II completion, and patience concerning the Luke Skywalker “problem,” he spares no expense in ceremony with his cordon of crimson-clad Imperial Royal Guards, mysteriously obscured inside highly stylized and streamlined helmets such as this beautiful production-made example, obtained directly from the production team at ILM. It is pictured below and expected to fetch $40,000 - $60,000.

now who was it that told me they stopped watching vids because they all look the same? I BEG TO DIFFER.

SecretlyToDream (Loki)'s Unravelling. Supernatural. Just wow. vidder takes an extremely gut wrenching piece of dialogue and runs with. mashes it up with other snatches of dialogue from throughout the series. Oh boys.

[personal profile] lola's You. Glee and multi. A Kurt character study. With lots of Broadway/Hollywood/Lady Gaga influence. WATCH.

garrideb's Sky is Open. Marvel specifically, Carol Danvers/Ms. Marvel. COMIC VERSE. uh... I didn't really realize you could make a comic vid! which makes sense when you think about it. but whatever. Carol is more awesome than you.

Catemonster's Run Right Back. Star Trek and multi. McCoy/Uhura. Spies!AU. and you know how much I like spies!AU. Makes excellent use of six-degrees of fandom, BTW.

DOES ANYONE HAVE ANY DUE SOUTH VIDS THEY'D LIKE TO REC ME?

Frankly I went to see this movie not expecting much. I thought the plot was going to be mediocre while the special effects would steal the show. Instead I got to see a very character driven movie that also had brilliant special effects. *YAY*

Cut for plot and character spoilers )

Conclusion: Very pretty, overall enjoyable. Sequel now? plz?
